Eight weeks to develop your practice

Regular sessions, home practice and conversations about your experience. We start by discussing your needs and whether the programme is suitable for you.

01

MBCT for Life

Mindfulness for everyday living

An eight-week programme combining mindfulness practice with elements of a cognitive behavioural approach. We explore habits of attention and responding, and ways of caring for ourselves in everyday situations.

Sessions include guided practice and discussion. Between sessions, you practise using the course materials. No previous meditation experience is required.

MBCT for Depression

Mindfulness and the experience of depression

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy was developed, among other purposes, to help people who have experienced episodes of depression reduce the risk of relapse. It combines meditation with learning about thinking patterns associated with low mood.

An initial suitability conversation takes your current situation and needs into account. The programme does not replace psychiatric care or psychotherapy. If you are receiving treatment, discuss participation with your treating professional.

03

MBSR

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

An eight-week programme for exploring your responses to stress and developing mindfulness. Practices include body awareness, meditation and mindful movement adapted to participants’ abilities.

Regular sessions and home practice help you notice tension and respond more consciously to demanding situations. We discuss your needs and participation requirements before the course begins.

Different ways to practise mindfulness

Choose mindfulness mentoring and coaching, a meditation retreat or a mindfulness day. Contact me to discuss dates and the format before booking.

One-to-one

Mindfulness mentoring and coaching

One-to-one sessions make space for your questions, experience and circumstances. You can begin mindfulness practice, return after a break or explore ways to bring it into daily life.

We begin with a conversation, followed by guided practice and reflection on your experience. Together, we agree on practice between sessions and the focus and frequency of our meetings.

These sessions support mindfulness learning. They are not a diagnostic service or crisis intervention.

If you have specific access needs, let me know in a private message — we will adapt the way we work to your needs. Send a private WhatsApp message.

An encounter revisited in a book

I reflect on an MBCT programme co-taught with Aleksandra Kwiatkowska and Anna Elf’s book “Bądź grzeczna, będziesz miała wszystko”, in which the author mentions me by name.

For organisations

Wellbeing and mindfulness at work

I design training that helps teams explore everyday working habits, responses to pressure and communication. I combine mindfulness teaching with experience as a business trainer and a learning and development professional.

We begin with the needs of the organisation and participants. I propose the scope, format and a way to assess how useful the training has been. Exercises relate to real workplace situations.

My workshops draw on business psychology, including communication, adult learning, motivation and responses to workplace stress. I combine this knowledge with experience in learning and development and mindfulness practice.

Training for organisations
  • Mindfulness and stress at work
  • Attention in a distracting environment
  • Communication in demanding situations
  • Recovery and boundaries
  • Mindfulness for leaders

An introductory workshop, a series of sessions or a full programme: we agree on the format and scope together. A short workshop is not equivalent to a full MBCT or MBSR programme. Mindfulness can support individual skills; workload, communication and opportunities for recovery within the organisation also matter.

Accessibility and an inclusive workplace

I bring experience as a job coach in supported employment, an accessibility consultant and a business trainer. I help organisations identify barriers and prepare teams to work with people with specific support needs.

Accessibility audits and consultations

Identifying barriers in spaces, communication, customer service and materials. We agree on the scope of the audit and how recommendations will be presented for each project.

Audio description

Creating audio descriptions of photographs and visual materials, drawing on my experience with collections and exhibitions.

Employee onboarding and team support

Support in preparing onboarding, communication and everyday collaboration. I help the employee, team and managers identify needs together and agree on practical arrangements.

Employee needs and work organisation

Consultations on tasks, communication and workplace organisation. Arrangements are developed with the person concerned. Where a specialist technical or ergonomic assessment is needed, we agree the scope with the appropriate specialists.

We start with a conversation involving the person concerned and the organisation, then agree on the purpose, scope and way of working.

Culture & NGOs

Mindfulness, accessibility and care in culture

I work with cultural institutions and non-profit organisations on projects that bring together education, mindfulness and sensitivity to audiences’ needs. My experience includes exhibitions, writing educational and support materials, and facilitating workshops.

Workshops for teams

Sessions for staff in cultural institutions and non-profit organisations, exploring mindfulness, wellbeing and the everyday demands of their work. We agree on the focus around the team’s needs.

Programmes alongside exhibitions

Workshops and mindfulness practices that invite attentive engagement with art and personal experience.

Writing and support materials

Educational content and materials supporting audiences of projects about mental health and the experience of crisis.

Audio description

Audio descriptions of photographs to support access to collections and exhibitions.

Accessibility reviews and consultancy

I help identify barriers in exhibitions, performances and visitor services. My experience includes reviewing and adapting an exhibition together with people with disabilities. We agree on the scope for each project.

Training on specific access needs

I help teams prepare to welcome people with specific access needs, covering communication, visitor services and sensory needs. I combine training experience with practical work supporting people with disabilities.

Let’s discuss your audience, subject and project needs. Together, we agree on the scope and whether I contribute individually or in collaboration with SZTOS.

About me

My name is Piotr Sokół-Flak. I am a Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy teacher, an MBSR trainer and a business trainer. I teach courses, workshops and one-to-one mindfulness sessions. I also work as a senior learning and development specialist.

I completed MBCT-L teacher training through an Oxford Mindfulness Foundation programme delivered with Fundacja Rozwoju Mindfulness. At The Mindfulness Network, I completed Specialist Training: MBSR Curriculum and Mindfulness in a One-to-One Context. I am also a graduate of the trainer training school at Wszechnica Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego.

At Karmapa International Buddhist Institute in New Delhi, I attended master’s-level classes in Buddhist studies as a non-degree auditing student. I studied trauma-sensitive practices in an international programme led by David Treleaven.

I am a member of Stowarzyszenie Zainteresowanych Troską o Siebie – SZTOS. I contribute to social and educational initiatives and teach mindfulness in cultural institutions.

In cultural projects, I combine content development with attention to accessibility. I write educational and support materials, create audio descriptions and consult on exhibitions and performances. I value developing solutions with the people whose needs they are intended to meet.

I completed the coursework requirements in psychology at the University of Wrocław (absolutorium). I did not defend a master’s thesis or obtain a master’s degree. I continue to develop this knowledge through mindfulness teacher training and professional training, and draw on it in my educational work.

I also worked as a job coach in the supported employment model, helping people with specific support needs enter employment and participate in working life. I draw on this experience in consultations and in preparing teams to work together.

The name Kshanti comes from Buddhist tradition and refers to patience and perseverance. For me, it inspires learning step by step, with openness to experience.

Before your first session

Do I need meditation experience?

No. Introductory programmes teach practice gradually. Before joining, we discuss your needs and whether the format is suitable.

Are the programmes religious?

I teach MBCT and MBSR in a secular setting. You can take part regardless of your beliefs.

How do the programmes differ?

MBCT for Life develops mindfulness in daily life. MBCT for Depression relates these skills to the experience of depression and patterns associated with low mood. MBSR focuses on responses to stress.

Does practice always feel calming?

Experiences vary. Distraction, tension and difficult emotions may arise. We learn to notice them and adjust practice. You can change or stop an exercise.

How much time do I need?

Full programmes involve regular sessions and practice between meetings. We discuss the specific requirements before you enrol in a particular course.

What language are sessions taught in?

We agree on the teaching language before you enrol or book a session. You can read the website in Polish, English and Norwegian; please ask about sessions in your preferred language.
